At mortgagesplease, we trawl through all of the thousands of deals on offer and find the one that suits your needs best. Moreover, brokers often are privy to deals that the general public never hear about, so you could save a considerable amount of money and time as well as finding the most appropriate loan arrangement.
To help us help you, it makes sense that we get a comprehensive idea of your circumstances. So, we will need you make to have as much relevant information as possible at your fingertips: information such as exact salary details for you and your partner (or other fellow prospective mortgagees), details of any bonuses due and any loans/mortgages already held. This kind of information will be needed for the lenders’ searches.
Like all brokers, we are regulated by the Financial Services Authority and must adhere to a code of practice. This means we cannot simply tell you which is the best mortgage. We have to gather information from you about your financial circumstances and credit history. In our case, this would be something we would do anyway, in compiling a Fact File specifically about you.
Bear in mind that lenders – banks, building societies – only tell you about their own mortgages. Also, an independent, experienced broker such as mortgagesplease is not limited (as some brokers are) to a particular set of lenders. We have access to the entire market and to some exclusive products.
